Today is the first press day at IFA 2018 in Berlin. Acer was one of the first companies to exhibit at the technology fair Proproduct innovations under the motto "Minimize to maximize". The highlights of the event.
Acer Swift 5
The main focus of the keynote was clearly on the new Acer Swift 5. With a weight of less than one kilogram, it is said to be the lightest ultrabook in the world. The touch display is 15,6 inches and has a full HD resolution. Inside, depending on the configuration, a Core i5 or a Core i7 of the current generation from Intel is working. The maximum possible battery life should be 10 hours. A nice feature: you can use the integrated fingerprint sensor with Windows Hello to log in. The Acer Swift 5 will be available from December at a price of 1199 euros.

In addition, the 14-inch model of the Acer Swift 5 has been renewed. Depending on your choice, this can have a Core i5 or a Core i7 of the Whiskey Lake generation. All other specs remained the same as with the predecessor.
Acer OJO 500
The Acer OJO 500 is a Windows Mixed Reality headset. The two displays are 2,89 inches tall and have a resolution of 1440p. The headset should score with the fact that individual parts can be exchanged. As a user, you can decide, for example, whether you would prefer a softer or a harder padding. Another special feature is the "IPD wheel". This allows the distance from the pupils to the displays to be individually adjusted. The implemented soundpipe technology is also special. Noise is transmitted from the speakers directly to the user's ears. This is supposed to make it easier to use in public places. The Acer OJO 500 will be available from November at a price of 499 euros.
Acer Predator XB273K
Acer also had a gaming monitor in the pastry. This is called the Predator XB273K. The display is 27 inches and has a UHD resolution. The frame rate is 144Hz. NVidia also supports G-Sync technology. When it comes to connections, you can choose between HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.7. The Predator XB273K will be available from the first quarter of 2019 at a price of 999 euros.
What else we saw
In addition to the highlights, the Aspire notebooks and some all-in-one PCs have been renewed. The Chromebook 514 was also presented: a 14-inch aluminum notebook with Chrome OS on board. Then we saw upgrades for the Predator Orion series and a gaming chair called the Preator Thrones.
