Restore deleted pictures on Android without root - here's how!
It has certainly already happened to every smartphone user: you clicked your way and unintentionally delete a beloved picture. In some galleries it is possible to undo the process for a few seconds. However, if this is no longer possible, there is an app that can restore deleted pictures.
The DiskDigger app is available for all smartphones from Android version 2.3 and can be downloaded free of charge in Play Store downloaded. The device does not have to be rooted for this, but some functions are not available without root. If you choose an app that you can download from somewhere on the Internet, you should be careful. There are some tools that create authorizations on the smartphone in order to completely erase the internal memory. That's why you should read the reviews beforehand or just download apps from the Play Store.
How can I restore my pictures now?
Immediately after starting you will be asked whether you want to start a basic search or a full search. No root is required for the basic search and usually finds all recently deleted images. If you click on Start Search, the search for the deleted images begins. A filter can then be used to determine which images you would like to display.
Here you can set the minimum and maximum date or the minimum file size of the image you are looking for. Found images are then automatically displayed either in the form of a list or a grid. If you have found the missing picture, you can select it in the list and click on "Restore" to bring it back. Here you can either have it saved directly on the smartphone or have it forwarded by email or WhatsApp.
Searching with DiskDigger shouldn't take too long. If it should take too much time because you have deleted a lot of pictures, you should use the filter described above. If I could help you, I would appreciate your comment. Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions about restoring images.
What do I do if I have deleted the pictures before I had the app because there are only existing pictures and pictures that I deleted while I had the app
Hi, it doesn't matter whether you have the app on your mobile phone before or after deleting it. It searches your internal memory and doesn't cache any images - so it doesn't matter.
If the app can no longer find older images, it may be that they have already been overwritten. It's best to do a thorough scan again probeer, otherwise unfortunately bad luck. Sorry 🙁
When were the pictures deleted that you want to restore?
LG, David from TechnikNews
Thank you, it worked absolutely great
When will the photos be overwritten during normal use? 1 week 2 weeks?
You can't say that specifically because the "deleted" memory is always overwritten by chance. A photo can only be overwritten after 1 week, but also after 1-2 months.
Doesn't work for me. When I restore the photos, they are nowhere shown on the phone.
Hello Matthias! Did you also select "Save to gallery" after clicking "Restore"? Otherwise, just select Email as the destination to send the photo to yourself.
Hopefully this helps!
Thank you worked out great 🙂
Thank you, I'm happy to hear 😉
Thanks, it worked great 🙂 Accidentally deleted the entire gallery. Everything found again with the standard search without rooting.
Hey Joseph! Great that you do too proworked flawlessly! 🙂
Thank you, worked wonderfully for my daughter. Unfortunately she had to go to schoolprojekt accidentally deleted various pictures, which of course was a "disaster". Installing the app and running it even without root rights was easy and, most importantly, brought the deleted photos back to light 🙂
Hello Andre! I'm glad I was able to help you recover your daughter's pictures with this article 🙂
