Lenovo Legion Go: Gaming handheld presented at IFA 2023
Lenovo also brought a small selection of new hardware to IFA 2023, including the Lenovo Legion Go. You can get information about the new gaming handheld here.
The Legion Go can be thought of as a Nintendo Switch. So this is a handheld with detachable controllers, but the device is a lot bigger and more powerful. And it runs Windows 11 on the device, so you can enjoy all the games you normally play on your gaming PC on the go.
In principle, Windows 11 can be used as you are used to from the operating system. Lenovo also installed the Legion Space software, which bundles local games and games bought in different stores in one place. You can also purchase games directly from the Legion Game Store in collaboration with Xbox Game Pass.
As already mentioned, the controllers can be detached from the device. Not only does this give you a lot more flexibility, you can also use an FPS mode in which a controller can be attached to an included holder. The controllers also have a trackpad for easier navigation through the operating system.
We have two USB-C connections, which are based on USB 4.0. Both are designed for DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 3.0.
Lenovo Legion Go: specifications
The Legion Go's display measures 8,8 inches diagonally, uses QHD+ and supports a refresh rate of 144 Hertz. As Proprocessor, Lenovo installed an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme with the AMD RDNA graphics unit. The lowest storage option is 256 gigabytes and RAM is 16 gigabytes in all configurations.
The battery of the device has a capacity of 49,2 watt hours and thanks to Super Rapid Charge this is up to 70 in half an hour Procent charged. During charging while gaming, the "Power Bypass" mode kicks in, preventing faster battery degradation and eliminating heat that can build up during power delivery.
Lenovo Legion Go: Pricing and Availability
The Lenovo Legion Go is slated to launch in October 2023. The price for the entry-level configuration is 799 euros.
