Android 12: This is what the upcoming Google OS could look like
Android 12 is expected to get its first developer beta this month, but the first screenshots may already have leaked.
These were published by our colleagues from XDA Developer Portal. The screenshots appear to come from internal Google documents sent to manufacturers like Samsung or Xiaomi to develop their Android S versions. XDA could not verify these sources 100 Procent verify, but they look very real. The first new functions can already be seen on these.
Android 12 privacy
The first new features revolve around privacy, which has moved into the focus of Google in recent years. As in iOS, Android 12 should show when the camera and when the microphone is being used or has just been used. These can then also be switched off directly in the software. Above all, this should create more confidence when the camera or when the microphone is used by which app.
Android 12 widgets
There seem to be other innovations in the widgets, which have had competition from iOS in the last year. The iOS widgets have been hailed as a better implementation in the media and by users and Google seems to have heard the feedback. The widgets in Android S seem to have been given new designs. A new "Conversations" widget also appears to be introduced.
We will of course stay tuned and keep you up to date on all upcoming details about the upcoming Android version.
