Android 7.1.1 Nougat is here: these are all the novelties

Today on December 06th, Google will begin rolling out the update to Google smartphones. These include the latest Nexus and the two Pixel phones. Android 7.1.1 brings better support for GIFs, new emojis and bug fixes.
As the developers now in official Android blog report, a sweet nougat update was distributed just in time for Santa Claus. This update includes some features that Google Pixel owners have long found in the Pixel Launcher. This includes the app shortcuts 3D touch similar feature, an image keyboard and new emojis. Some annoying bugs have also been fixed.
App shortcuts: the other 3D touch
With Android 7.1.1, Google implements shortcuts for the apps on the home screen. A long tap on the app gives you faster access to certain actions in the app. As an example, you can start a new chat in WhatsApp directly from the home screen. If you need a function more often, you can add it as an extra icon on the home screen.

New image keyboard and GIFs
In addition, there is now an image keyboard in Android 7.1.1. With this you can search for pictures directly from the Internet and then send them directly from the keyboard. However, so far this particular keyboard only works with the Google Messenger Hello and hangouts.
The emojis have also been updated: now there are also female emojis for well-known "male jobs". For example a cook, a doctor, a farmer and a softwareProgrammer.
