Android N 7.0 is officially called Android Nougat

(Post picture: © 2016 Techradar.com)

On Friday, Google presented the name for Android 7.0. This is unsurprising as all versions of Android have something to do with candy. The names Android Nutella and Android Nuts have also been requested a lot by users.

This morning did google on twitter the winner of the user vote, as Android N should be called, presented. Everyone was invited to choose a name for the upcoming Android 7.0. You had to legally on the Android-N side go and write his name in the box. You can now look at the suggestions submitted by the users on this page.

How about some nesquik or nutella?

The favorites of the vote were among others Nutella, Nesquik and Nuts. But there were a lot of other crazy suggestions - how about Neapolitan ice cream, Nuomici or even NNew York Cheesecake? But some long suggestions for an Android name. Our favorite would be Nutella, unfortunately nothing came of it. Even Nectar would have sounded good. Furthermore, it is not yet known when Google will finally release Android Nougat. Probably in the fall at Google I / O. So far there is only a preview version, but a lot can still change. This is also updated regularly. This version is currently only available for current Google devices such as the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, the Nexus Player and the Google Pixel C Tablet. You can register for the beta here.

In advance, however, it can be said that innovations such as a split-screen mode, a new folder preview, lots of new emojis with Unicode 9 and a new sophisticated notification system are on board. An imitation of Apple's 3D touch for pressure-sensitive smartphone displays is also planned for Android 7.0. Maybe Android M will break the 20th mark before Android N is released Prozent brand since recently only the 10 Prozent mark broken wurde.

Funny name, haha.

Lukas

Really a bit weird version name, but I think it's okay. I would have liked Nectar or Nutella better 😛

Fabian

I actually thought Nutella was the best and voted for it, but I will probably be able to live with nougat too! 🙂

David

I think exactly like that. We’re curious when it’s finally going to be released 😉
