That Apple that Mac lineup now on devices with the M1 is nothing new. As a result, the company stopped production of the Apple iMac Pro.

At the end of 2017, the Apple iMac Pro was released as an alternative to the then long-outdated Mac Pro. The computer looks the same as an iMac but offers the performance of a Mac Pro. A successor model for this product including a ProDisplay XDR Apple then unveiled it in June 2019 at WWDC. Some people then asked themselves whether there would ever be a successor to the iMac Pro. Apple has now given a clear answer to this.

Apple iMac Pro: Regular iMac is recommended instead

On the buy page of the computer, the note “As long as stocks last” was inserted. In addition, only the entry-level configuration is available. Apple itself says the iMac with a 27-inch display is the better option. If someone needs more processing power, there is always the Mac Pro with more configuration and expansion options.

However, it can be assumed that a new iMac with one of the company's own processors and a new design will soon be released. This will probably be as fast as the discontinued iMac Pro and will be priced at the same level as the cheaper all-in-one computer from Cupertino. We also already know that two more Pro computers are in the works. All information about this can be found here in this article.

Honestly, I think this move was predictable given the processor change. We are definitely excited about the upcoming Macs.
