Apple not only introduced a new HomePod today, but also four new iPhones. The iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. We have all the details, prices and pictures of the new iPhones for you at a glance.

Apple iPhone 12 (Mini)

The iPhone 12 is once again the device for the masses. The smartphone comes with a 6,1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED touchscreen that has a sharp FullHD+ resolution at around 460 ppi. Compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 12 is 11 percent thinner, 15 percent smaller and a full 16 percent lighter. The glass on the front and back is also said to be more stable this year. You can choose between black, white, red, blue and green.

It is powered by the A14 Bionic, which we now also use from the iPad Air 4 This is currently by far the fastest and most powerful smartphone processor. This processor is manufactured using the 5 nanometer process. The CPU is said to be a full 50 percent faster than all of the competition. The GPU has also been significantly improved. There is also either 64 gigabytes, 128 gigabytes or 256 gigabytes of memory. As usual, no information about the RAM was given.

All iPhones support 5G, which, however, does not yet offer much added value in Germany. However, people in the US are likely to be very impressed by 5G profit.

When it came to the camera, compared to the iPhone 11 not much. We still have a dual camera with a wide-angle and an ultra-wide-angle sensor. The resolutions are 12 megapixels and 12 megapixels. It is said to be a new sensor that can absorb significantly more light. Portrait mode and other similar functions are back on board. "Deep Fusion", the night mode and "Smart HDR" have all improved. Night mode is finally available this year for the ultra-wide-angle camera and front camera.

With the iPhone 12, Apple is introducing a new wireless charging system called MagSafe. As the name suggests, this is a magnetic wireless charger with which up to 15 watts of fast charging is possible.

For the first time, Apple also introduced a mini version. The difference here is the display size, which is only 5,4 inches. The touchscreen is 0,1 inches smaller than the iPhone 8 Plus. Otherwise there are no differences to the larger iPhone 12 in terms of the rest of the equipment.

The Apple iPhone 12 can be pre-ordered from October 16, delivery will start on October 23. On the other hand, the iPhone 12 mini can only be pre-ordered from November 6th, delivery will also start on November 13th. The prices are 799 euros for the mini and 899 euros for the “normal” iPhone 12 in the smallest memory version with 64 GB.

Apple iPhone 12 Pro (Max)

Last year there was a Pro version of the iPhone for the first time and this year is no different. The Super Retina XDR displays measure 6,1 inches and 6,7 inches diagonally, making both smartphones slightly larger than their respective predecessors. The resolutions here are also FullHD+ with OLED. As already suspected, the displays unfortunately do not offer a smooth refresh rate of 120 Hertz. The slightly more angular frame is also made of stainless steel this year and the back is made of matte glass. They are also protected against the ingress of water and dust according to IP-68.

The A14 Bionic is also found in the Pro models. Instead of the 64 gigabyte version, there is a higher-end version with 512 gigabytes of memory. Information about the RAM was not given here either.

As we already know from last year, the Apple iPhone 12 Pro (Max) also has a triple camera consisting of a wide-angle, an ultra-wide-angle and a telephoto sensor. In addition, Apple installed the LIDAR sensor for AR applications, as we already saw in this year's iPad Pro. Among other things, this improves the autofocus in low light. The resolutions of the cameras are 12 megapixels, 12 megapixels and 12 megapixels.

So on paper, everything is the same as last year, but in practice a lot is said to have improved. While the iPhone 12 Pro Max offers a 2,5x optical zoom, the smaller Pro only has a 2x optical zoom. The zoom should therefore be noticeably better, at least in the Max model. In addition, the main sensor in the Pro Max is a full 47 percent larger than last year and should therefore be able to capture significantly more light. The AppleProRAW feature will also be activated at the end of the year. This will make the images even sharper and generally even better.

The Apple iPhone 12 Pro costs 1.149 euros and will start shipping on October 23rd. However, pre-orders start earlier, on October 16th. The starting price of the Pro Max is 1.249 euros and will be available from November 13th, with pre-orders possible on November 6th.
