Apple MacBook Air (2022) officially unveiled
As the rumors already suggested, Apple presented the Apple MacBook Air (2022) at WWDC 2022. It's got it.
The new MacBook Air got a new design, which no longer has the wedge-shaped shape, but comes across with an even thinness of 11,3 millimeters. The new charging connector MagSafe, which is also already in the MacBook Pro available is now also on the left side. Otherwise, the connections remain the same, two USB-C and a headphone connection. The keyboard also comes from the design of the MacBook Pro closer, there is a large row of function keys.
They have also changed the design of the front, so there is now also a recess for the front cameras, the so-called "Notch". It now also houses a 1080p front camera. The display on the front therefore now has a diagonal of 13,3 inches and supports a brightness of up to 500 nits, like the MacBook Pros.
Of course, the new Apple M2 SoC was also installed inside, with which, among other things, 18 hours of battery life for video playback should be achieved. The maximum available memory is now 24 gigabytes of RAM and two terabytes of mass storage. The battery is now also quickly charged with 67 watts. With the power supply 50 Procan be filled within 30 minutes.
The new 13 inch MacBook Pro however, stays with the old design, it still has the touch bar and the old USB-C connections. The only relevant difference falls on the M2Proprocessor, with which, among other things, an even longer battery life is achieved.
The price of the MacBook Air is $1199, the MacBook Pro $1299, which leaves the old MacBook Air with the M1 Prozessor still for sale. The Macs start again with 8 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of mass storage.
