Apple MacBook Air (2022) officially unveiled

As the rumors already suggested, Apple presented the Apple MacBook Air (2022) at WWDC 2022. It's got it.

The new MacBook Air has a new design that no longer has the wedge-shaped form, but is evenly thin at 11,3 millimeters. The new MagSafe charging port, which is also available in the MacBook Pro, is now also on the left side. Otherwise, the ports remain the same, two USB-C and a headphone jack. The keyboard is also closer in design to the MacBook Pro, with a large row of function keys.

They have also changed the design of the front, so there is now a recess for the front cameras, the so-called "notch". It now also houses a 1080p front camera. The display on the front now has a diagonal of 13,3 inches and supports a brightness of up to 500 nits, like the MacBook Pros. 

The new Apple M2 SoC has also been installed inside, which is designed to achieve 18 hours of battery life when playing videos, among other things. The maximum available memory is now 24 gigabytes of RAM and two terabytes of mass storage. The battery is now also quickly charged with 67 watts. The power adapter should be able to charge 50 percent within 30 minutes.

MacBook Pro

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro, on the other hand, sticks to the old design, it still has the touch bar and old USB-C ports. The only relevant difference is the M2 processor, which, among other things, achieves an even longer battery life.

Prices

The price of the MacBook Air is $1199 and the MacBook Pro is $1299, and the old MacBook Air with the M1 processor remains on sale. The Macs again start with 8 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of storage.
