Apple Pay is coming to Austria soon
Austria is still not well equipped with mobile payment services. A big player in this area should finally come to us, namely Apple with Apple Pay.
Erste Bank Sparkasse, N26 and boon announced today on Twitter that Apple Pay will soon be coming to Austria and have therefore agreed to participate. However, the graphics posted only say "Coming soon." And no specific date. From the comments in the Sparkasse tweet I could only see that the launch will definitely take place this year. I could also see there that there are still no plans to support Google Pay. UniCredit is also planning to introduce Apple Pay.
Soon with us too: Pay securely and easily with Apple Pay. pic.twitter.com/AQlbyb0k05

UniCredit was the first bank to introduce Apple- and AliPay in Italy, Germany and Hungary. An introduction is also planned for us. At Bank Austria, it is already possible to make contactless payments with a smartphone using the 'Mobile Wallet' app.
