Apple: "Where is?" confirms upcoming Macs

Rumors have been circulating for weeks that Apple could soon be introducing new Macs. This claim is now supported by a find in a configuration file of the "Where is?" network.

Some new Macs are set to see the light of day in the near future. For example, there is frequent talk of a MacBook Air, which will come with a 15-inch screen for the first time. A Mac Pro with an M chip is also hotly anticipated. Apple first teased this at the end of the event in March 2022, but there have been no further official updates on the high-end computer since then.

Meanwhile, WWDC 2023 is fast approaching and the question naturally arises whether one of these upcoming Mac models could be seen there. A hidden configuration file for the "Find My" network now suggests that the company could soon present an iMac, a Mac Pro or a Mac Studio.

Presentation of the Mac Pro most likely

The configuration file discovered by developer Nicolás Álvarez notes all Macs that don't send a Find My notification when left behind. Since only stationary Macs logically do not support this feature, only such are noted there.

The version of the file found lists three models that cannot be assigned to any computer that has been introduced so far. They are called Mac14,8, Mac14,13 and Mac14,14. It should be noted that this product can also be available in three different versions and the 14 definitely stands for a processor from the M2 series.

So what can we conclude from this? The three Mac computers that Apple could currently introduce are the Mac Pro, a new Mac Studio and a new iMac. However, since rumors suggest that the latter two Macs will skip the M2, only the Mac Pro remains. Moreover, there is evidence that this is exactly what is hidden behind the spotted model number Mac14,8.

Of course, this does not mean that the Mac Pro will be a permanent part of WWDC 2023. We will have to wait until June to find out.
