Chrome: media controls for the toolbar

As you know from Google, the Chrome browser gets new features on a regular basis. The latest brings a media control to the browser's toolbar.

In a canary version of Chrome, Google is currently testing a new feature for easier control of media playback. If you are a Canary user, will appear in the toolbar next to the Profilbild an icon with a play button. If you click in there, buttons for play/pause, next and previous appear. The user interface looks similar to Android.

For example, it is then possible to pause your music on Spotify without switching tabs. This is particularly useful when working with multiple tabs. The whole thing should apparently only work with YouTube, Spotify and Vimeo at the moment. In the future, however, more services are likely to be added, if you consider that the feature is only shown in the Canary version. It is not yet known when this new feature will make it into the stable version of Chrome. However, it will probably be some time before the functionality is compatible with several services.
