Various Donald Trump social media accounts were blocked due to various events in the USA. Now it has been decided on Facebook that this will be maintained until further notice.

At the beginning of the current year there was a run on the US Capitol in Washington, which even claimed some casualties. Social network operators felt that videos of ex-US President Donald Trump contributed to this, among other things. As a result, this was blocked on almost all channels. The independent “Oversight Board”, which is responsible for such cases at Facebook, checked the matter again yesterday.

Donald Trump and Facebook: re-exam in six months

This “oversight board” came to the conclusion that Trump's account will remain closed for the next six months. At the same time, this committee expressed criticism of the actions of Facebook's operators, since a block without a deadline does not correspond to any of the internally defined rules. After this period of time, the whole thing is checked one more time, where you want to come to a rule-compliant decision.

Furthermore, the Oversight Board recommended the redevelopment of some rules with regard to the Trump case. There is talk of a “development of clear, necessary and proProportional regulations" to preserve freedom of expression and public safety. In any case, it remains exciting and remains to be seen whether we will ever hear anything from Donald Trump again on social media services.
