Facebook: Messenger back in the main app soon?

A few years ago, Facebook put all chats on Messenger. Now it looks like taking that step back again.
The Facebook Messenger was introduced in 2011. A short time later it was only possible to send messages to Facebook friends via this external app. Now that there is evidence that the company will use Messenger with WhatsApp and Instagram want to link, you put the chats back in the main app.
Not all messenger features in the main app
App teardown expert Jane Manchun Wong discovered this change. In a tweet, it shows that messages can be reached via the symbol in the top right of the app. Messenger is still required to make calls, send photos or respond to messages. It remains to be seen where Facebook wants to go with this strategy. I myself don't understand why only some of the features of the messenger have been relocated and the other not. It could be a while before these changes appear in the public version of the Facebook client.
