Fortnite for Android is now available in the Google Play Store
Fortnite for Android started as a beta version almost two years ago. So far, however, the game has not been available in the Google Play Store, but only via external download. That is changing now.
We stayed here in August 2018 TechnikNews about the first beta of Fortnite for Android reported. A few months before that was already clear: Epic Games will not publish the game in the Google Play Store. The reason given for this was the high fees that Google charges for in-app purchases of its apps. All app developers have to pass on 30 percent of the in-game revenue to Google. Now, however, the game is coming to the Google Play Store.
Fortnite for Android can now be downloaded from the Google Play Store
Since Fortnite has been on the decline for a long time, we are now looking for (new) players. So it might have been too cumbersome for some to download the Fortnite Installer as an APK file. In addition, Android always warns against installations from external sources - this could also have unsettled some gamers. Now you agree with the resulting fees and publish the Battle Royale Game in the Google Play Store.
Fortnite is now available for download from the Google Play Store. We have which smartphone you need to play the game at this point already written down for you. All newer smartphones that are not in this list are of course also supported. If you have already installed Fortnite for Android, you can now uninstall the Fortnite installer and download the game directly from the store. For iOS, the game is of course still available in the store.
