The Google Chromecast has been around for a few years now. Now he's getting his first major update. Unlike before, it now runs Google TV, also known as Android TV.

In addition to two new Pixel Phones, the Google Pixel 5 and the Google Pixel 4a 5G Google also unveiled a new Chromecast today. This finally comes with a fully-fledged Android TV, a keyboard and the Google Assistant directly integrated. The new Chromecast was already under that Code name "Sabrina" known and is larger than its predecessor. However, it is still only connected to the TV's HDMI port, that's it. Under the hood, the new Chromecast supports 4K and HDR support.

As already mentioned above, the new Google Chromecast is equipped with a full-fledged Android TV. This offers a surface similar to that on the Amazon Fire TV Stick, which is controlled with the remote control. This remote control has arrow keys, direct keys for Netflix and YouTube, and a Google Assistant key. In addition, Android TV is getting a name change to Google TV. But this also looks different than its predecessor.

The color variants are Snow, Sky and Sunrise. We are priced at 49 dollars, but with us it is 69,99 euros - pre-order from today in the Google Store, in Germany and even Austria.
