Google has in addition to the new Google Pixel Watch two new smartphones, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro presented. In terms of price, you remain true to the RRP from the Pixel 6 series. The new devices have been given a few small but fine updates.

Also this year the new lineup consists of the normal and Pro-Version. Compared to the previous series, however, the changes are really small - face unlock, improved noise cancellation for calls, the new one Proprocessor and a new macro focus mode (Pro-model) are the highlights.

Google Pixel 7 in detail: Small innovations to the Pixel 6

The new flagship measures 6,3 inches diagonally and is therefore 0,1 inches smaller than its predecessor. The Pixel 7 is also a bit more compact: 155,6 mm x 74 mm (instead of 158,6 mm x 74,8 mm for the Pixel 6). The resolution of the OLED display remains FHD+ (1.080 x 2.400 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. The display, which is up to 1.000 (HDR) or 1.400 nits, is brighter. For an even better feeling in the hands (the smartphone weighs a total of 195,5 grams, by the way), the new borderless "Corning Gorilla Glass Victus" back with a frame made of polished aluminum is used.

Under the hood, the battery is a bit smaller at 4.355 mAh (Pixel 6: 4.614 mAh), but should last just as long. as Prozessor is based on the new Tensor G2 chip, together with 8 GB of RAM. There is a choice of 128 GB or 256 GB of internal memory, and a 512 GB version is also available in the USA and other selected countries.

The camera has been upgraded and can now not only have optical but also electronic image stabilization. For better group selfies, the front camera's field of view increases from 84 to 92,8 degrees and from 8 to 10,8 MP. Other extras such as IP68 certification, stereo speakers and dual SIM (1x physical + 1x eSIM) are also on board here. The face unlock is new, even if the notch or camera cutout on the front has remained the same size.

On the Google Pixel 7 Pro the external innovations are smaller: the display size remains the same at 6,7 inches. In addition, the dimensions are only slightly narrower in height, it is even a little wider compared to the Pixel 6 Pro: 163mm x 76mm (Pixels 7 Pro) vs. 163,9mm x 75,9mm (Pixel 6 Pro). The resolution remains QHD+ (1.440 x 3.120 pixels), OLED and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It is also a bit brighter here: up to 1.000 nits (HDR) and 1.500 nits (peak brightness). The new aluminum frame on the back is also on the Pixel 7 Pro with you. Overall that brings Pro-Flagship weighs 212 grams.

Filling up like Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 either via wireless charging or fast charging. The wireless "sharing" of the battery for other devices ("reverse charging") on the back is also possible again. The battery capacity remains the same as the Pixel 5.000 with its 6 mAh Pro identical

Together with the new Google Tensor G2 chip, there is again 12 GB of RAM plus 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage. Again, face unlocking is new, like the Pixel 7, along with an improved camera. The 48 MP telephoto lens now comes with a new 30x zoom. Close-ups with the new macro focus should also be even better, night photos with "Night Sight" should also receive an upgrade.

There are also other features such as IP68 certification, stereo speakers and dual SIM (1x physical + 1x eSIM). There is also no need to say a word about 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, WLAN 802.11ax and NFC – of course anyway. With the new USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-C connection, the new devices are given another small upgrade.
