Honor 8: Update to Android 7.0 Nougat is available
The OTA update to Android 8 Nougat starts today for the Honor 7.0. Before that, smartphone owners had to use the HiCare app to update. From now on you can do this very practically in the system settings.
Honor is the mid-range division, a brand that belongs to Huawei. The update to Android 25 has been available since January 7.0th - previously you had to use the HiCare app for the update. As of today, the update will also be rolled out via OTA. This means that the update can now also be found in the system settings.
This is new: EMUI 5.0 with Android 7.0 Nougat
The smartphone should report automatically as soon as an update is available. But if you want to check it manually, you can take a look at the settings under the menu item “Updateprogram". Check for new firmware here - if a new one is available, it will be installed automatically. However, the update does not seem to have arrived in Germany and Austria yet. The rollout could take a few more days. If you don't want to wait, you can also use a VPN.
With Android 7.0, the update to EMUI 5.0 brings a few more features. With this update, Honor 8 owners can now also enjoy the features that were still reserved for the latest Huawei smartphones. Among other things, you can Clone apps with EMUI 5.0 and Android 7.0 and run two apps at the same time in the multi-view view. The app drawer can also be retrieved - we have shown how that works shown in this guide. Of course, that wasn't all the new features - just offprobeer when the update comes out.
I also have an Honor 8 FRD-L09 and I'm still waiting for the system update, wondering when it will come
I also have an Honor 8. It's great that Huawei is doing such an exemplary job here, because every current smartphone should quickly switch to Android Nougat.
is really a great operating system.
