Huawei Mate 30: Bootloader remains closed
The Huawei Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 Lite have to do without Google services. Now you want to lock the bootloader permanently, but what does that mean?
An open boot loader allows third party ROMs and the Google Play Store to be installed. The latter would have been particularly advantageous with the devices of the Mate 30 series, since there is no Play Store installed and many rely on services from Google. Richard Yu, the CEO, even said at the launch event that they wanted to release the bootloader for the first time.

But nothing will come of it. Now a press spokesman from Huawei told the people of Android Authoritythat the manufacturer "does not plan" to release the bootloader on the new Mate 30 services. Why Yu claimed the exact opposite at launch is not known. In any case, I think that's a shame, as it was the last reason to buy for many because many rely on Google services such as the calendar. For the time being, it looks anyway as if the new smartphones won't come onto the market with us.
