Huawei introduces Kirin 980 at IFA 2018

It has been known for a long time, and now it is official: The Kirin 980 was officially introduced today. The new processor is said to be much faster than the Snapdragon 845.
The new Kirin 980 will outshine all others, or at least that's what Richard Yu claimed at the Huawei keynote at the IFA 2018 in Berlin. It is said to be much faster and more efficient than its predecessor. The GPU is said to be 46 percent faster and 178 percent more energy efficient. The processor is manufactured using the 7nm process - the first on the market.
Faster charging times and longer battery life thanks to new, economical technology
With a new technology for clustering the cores, a more economical core is to be used in the future for more economical apps in order to save battery. If you use the smartphone at full power, the system uses the “big” cores, the others run on the back burner. In addition, apps should start almost 845 seconds faster compared to the Snapdragon 0,2 - okay.
Compared to the Kirin 970, the new processor is said to be 20 percent faster and 40 percent more efficient. The Kirin 980 is also equipped with a dual NPU for better AI performance.
The comparisons seemed a bit strange during the keynote anyway, so the image quality between the Kirin 980 and Snapdragon 845 was compared. Such comparisons make no sense, but they are often used at Huawei. Again on to the innovations.
The new AI chipset should be able to render certain people or things live from videos in order to be able to change the background. The new processor also has 4x4 MIMO antennas, equipped with Cat. 21 (max. 1,4 Gbps download). The new antennas are also intended to offer better reception. The new Kirin 980 is also fully 5G compatible.
