Huawei and Honor: Ads appear on lock screens
Once again there is negative Huawei and Honor news. For two days now, advertising has been appearing on the lock screens of several of the manufacturer's smartphones. What's going on there?
Some Huawei and Honor shoppers in the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, and a few more regions report seeing ads on their lock screen. More precisely, this is an advertisement from the Hotel Booking website. Some of them on Twitter show exactly what this looks like. Our editor-in-chief David Wurm is also affected by the ads, as he was about the TechnikNews-Account on Twitter writes.
Lately I've been here on the #HuaweiP30Pro Advertising by @Booking displayed on the lock screen - who of you has that too? ^ dw @HuaweiMobileDe

In particular, this seems to be the case with owners of a P30 Pro, P20, P20 Lite, P20 Pro and Honor 10 to perform. No other cases are known at this time. Also, the ads apparently only appear when using Huawei's pre-built slideshow on the lock screen. This can easily be deactivated in the settings of the smartphone. Do you also see ads on your lock screen? Tell us about it in the comments!
