Huawei won't just do that next week Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro but also a new smartwatch. This should be called Huawei Watch GT and stand out from the competition in terms of software and battery life.

On October 16, Huawei will also introduce a smartwatch. As GSMArena Now reported, Huawei was probably hasty and “unintentionally” put the product page of the upcoming Huawei Watch GT online. It was already seen in a Leak from evanblass in a bundle with the upcoming mate smartphones. Now there are official specifications and press photos.

Huawei Watch GT: That should be in the smartwatch

The Huawei Watch GT is said to have a 1,39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. A Cortex-M4 processor is said to be working inside. It is still unclear how much RAM will be used here – with the Huawei Watch 2 it was 768 MB of RAM. The weight of the watch should also be 46 grams without the bracelet.

To round off the overall package, there is also GPS (with the satellites GLONASS + Beidou + Galileo), a heart rate monitor on the back and a water resistance of 5ATM. NFC will also be possible with the Huawei Watch GT, if it weren't for the software. Here Huawei should probably rely on its own creation and not on Wear OS. Either there will be a payment system from Huawei itself or one will somehow be able to integrate Google Pay or other alternatives.

A consolation for all Wear OS fans: By decoupling from Google, the watch with its own software should last up to 2 weeks in active mode and up to 30 days in ultra-energy-saving mode with the watch displayed. The also keeps a similar promise TicWatch Pro, but still with Wear OS from Google At the same time, the watch can be charged to 100 percent in less than two hours using the magnetic charging station.

The Huawei Watch GT should also come in two versions. (Image: Huawei)

The new smartwatch from Huawei is to be presented on Tuesday and will also come onto the market in this country with an RRP of just under 200 euros.
