Inbox from Google: Old APKs no longer work

On April 2nd, the Inbox switched off by Google. So far, however, it was possible to use old APKs of the app. Google has now put an end to that too.
After after April 2nd APKs of previous versions still proworked flawlessly, some inbox lovers got hope again. But Google destroyed it again. Android Police noticed that all instances of version 1.77, where Inbox was still running fine, were secretly updated to version 1.78, the version before the shutdown. After several login attempts, the only message that appears is that something went wrong. It also doesn't help to reinstall version 1.77.

That was it for good - Inbox is dead. Many will now ask which alternative one can resort to. Of course, the normal Gmail app is best, but also Spark from Readdle and Newton from CloudMagic are worthy representatives. We have both mail clients here TechnikNews already tested.
