On today's Google I/O a lot is about privacy. Now they have presented their own incognito mode for Google Maps and YouTube. This is already available on Google Chrome.

Incognito mode in Google Chrome is popular. This is often used so that the content you are looking for does not end up in the course. Any tracking cookies are also deleted immediately after the session. These tracking cookies are not only available in the browser, but also in other apps. For example in Google Maps - especially in YouTube. Thus, the incognito mode is now also extended to Google Maps and YouTube.

More privacy for users

It cannot be denied that Google stores a lot of data about its users. This year, however, there is a strong emphasis on data protection and privacy. With these functions one pursues one goal: More privacy for users. If you activate the incognito mode, which in future will be located directly in Google Maps and YouTube in the menu, no data will be recorded. So you won't see what you were looking for in Google Maps afterwards. Or in YouTube there are no suggestions for videos to be played in incognito mode.

The incognito mode is to be rolled out for all users in Google Maps and YouTube in a few weeks or months. The update will be deployed via the Google Play Store.
