A new feature of iOS 15 makes it possible to save a hotel key. This function is now being demonstrated for the first time in a video.

A lot can now be stored in the Apple Wallet. Everything from ID cards to debit and credit cards for Apple Pay is supported. Since iOS 15 and watchOS 8, which have been available since last September, hotel keys can also be added. As of last month, Hyatt hotel chain guests have been able to do so at six locations in the United Statesprobeer

A new video on YouTube now shows exactly how this works.

iOS 15: This is how the hotel key works in the Apple Wallet

To unlock a room or activate a lift, all you have to do is call up the entry in the Apple Wallet and hold the iPhone or Apple Watch up to the reader. With the express mode you don't even have to start the wallet anymore. And if the battery is empty? Then you can unlock your room for another five hours thanks to “Power Reserve”.

The key is retrieved via the hotel chain's app. This also has the advantage that they can easily update access if, for example, you stay longer than planned or have to change rooms. Checking out is also a lot easier, as one push of a button in the app is all it takes.

The whole thing is looking good. The only question is when we will release this innovation in this countryprocan beer.
