Kingrow K1 with e-ink display on Indiegogo
Interesting things from various start-ups regularly land on Indiegogo. The Kingrow K1 has recently also been found there. The strange smartphone can do that.
If you look at the data sheet, you would initially think that the K1 is a typical low-end smartphone. The device runs Android 8.1, powered by a MediaTek 6763 with two gigabytes of RAM and 16 gigabytes of storage. The display is only 5,7 inches tall and has a resolution of 720p. The only camera on the back is eight megapixels. The bottom line is that these aren't great specs. So what is so special about the smartphone?
Kingrow K1: With e-ink display
In fact, the K1 does not have an ordinary LCD, OLED or AMOLED screen, but an e-ink panel as we know it from devices such as the Kindle or Yota smartphones. So I don't know whether the smartphone will sell so well. After all, the entire display has to be updated with every change, which results in stuttering. I can imagine that this will put a lot of people off buying. The K1 is perfect for reading e-books.
The Kingrow K1 will officially be released in August at a price of $ 349.
