LG introduced the LG UltraFine OLED Pro at CES 2021. Now there is a date for a possible market launch. The monitor could be available as early as July 16th.

LG hasn't updated the UltraFine series for a long time. The first models came out with the newly designed MacBooks around five years ago. Now the LG UltraFine OLED was presented at CES 2021 Pro. The most important features of this are that it measures 32 inches diagonally, the resolution is 4K and - as the name suggests - houses an OLED panel. HDR is also supported.

It is exciting that, according to a data sheet, there should no longer be any Thunderbolt ports. With the older UltraFine models, these are of great advantage, especially for MacBook users. You could use it to charge your notebook, transfer data and at the same time transfer the image for the monitor. According to the data sheet, there is a USB-C port with 90 watts, but this will probably not have the same speeds as Thunderbolt.

LG UltraFine OLED Pro: Not a cheap device

So far it has not been clear when the new monitor will be available in stores. At first it was only clear that this should come sometime in the summer. One Proproduct page of a retailer now suggests that the UltraFine OLED Pro will be available from July 16th. It has also been known since spring that the price will be at least 3000 US dollars. This indication is very generous on the mentioned ProA price of 3999 US dollars is listed on the product page. The euro prices are not yet known.
