IGTV and similar Facebook services somehow do not meet with enthusiasm among most young people. Now Facebook is working on a new application called LOL.

gegenüber TechCrunch Facebook confirmed that a new service for young people is being worked on behind closed doors. This has the simple name LOL. TechCrunch was already able to provide a screenshot showing that LOL is structured in several categories. Some of them are called "For You", "Animals", "Pranks" and "Memes". The content of these categories is taken from Facebook feeds.

Your own app or part of the Facebook application?

In the USA, the new platform is already being tested with a small number of young people. There it is for the most part well received, most see it as a replacement for the watch tab in the Facebook app. It remains to be seen whether the service will ultimately be more successful with the young people than IGTV and Co. It also remains to be seen how long it will be before LOL is officially released. Facebook is not even sure whether the new service will be part of the Facebook app or whether it will have its own app, according to TechCrunch.
