Mac mini (2023) introduced: With M2 (Pro) and more ports

Yesterday Apple updated next to two MacBooks also the Mac mini. This received, among other things, the M2 chip as Proprocessor.
In June for the WWDC 2022 Apple equipped for the first time two macs with the new M2-Proprocessor off. Many suspected that in the fall, among other things, the MacBook Pros with the M2 Pro and M2 Max followed, but nothing came of it. There hasn't been an update for the Mac mini for quite some time either - until yesterday.
Apple's smallest desktop computer is now an M2 or an M2, depending on the configuration Pro accommodated. Compared to the first M generation, the upgrades aren't earth-shattering, but they're still important. For example, the M2 supports a maximum of 24 gigabytes of RAM (unified memory), while the M1 only had 16 gigabytes. For more performance you can then go to the M2 Pro with 10 computing cores, 16 graphics cores and a maximum of 32 gigabytes of RAM. All other details about the Processors can be found in the articles linked above.
Mac mini (2023) has more ports
A limitation of the M1 that vexed many was that the chip was only designed for two Thunderbolt ports. Accordingly, Apple could not install more ports in the Mac mini from 2020. Things are a bit different with this year's model. Because in the variant with M2 Pro there are four Thunderbolt 4 ports instead of just two. Ethernet, HDMI and two USB-A are independent of equipment.
On top of that, the computer offers Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for fast connectivity. Otherwise, the device is identical to its predecessor.
Mac mini (2023) pricing and availability
Pre-orders started yesterday and deliveries will start on January 24th. The Mac mini starts at 699 euros.
