The new Microsoft Office app for Android went online at the beginning of this week. Now the app is moving into the App Store for iOS and completing the offer. The new app now combines some Office services into one package instead of having several apps.

Until now, you had to download your own apps for each of the Office apps. Now at least three Office apps are combined in one app. The new Microsoft Office app includes Excel, PowerPoint and Word. As you are used to from the apps before, after five free edits you have to log in with your Microsoft account with an active Office 365 subscription. Otherwise documents and tables can only be viewed, but not edited.

Microsoft Office App: What about Outlook & Co.?

You read correctly: the app currently only saves you three individual apps - the applications for services such as OneNote and Outlook still have to be downloaded separately. But you can assume that in the future you will find more Office 365 applications in the app - at least for that Promotional video on YouTube one has made a real effort. It has not been announced whether the extra apps for Excel, PowerPoint and Word will be discontinued. This shouldn't be planned at the moment.
