Netflix for iOS and iPadOS: Support for Spatial Audio is coming
With iOS and iPadOS 14, Apple donated the AirPods Spatial Audio, a 3D sound function. This is now also supported by the Netflix app.
But let's start by clarifying exactly how spatial audio works. If AirPods Pro or AirPods Max are connected to an iPhone or an iPad, an option to turn on the feature will appear in the volume control menu. After that, it sounds like the content is pouring in on you from all sides. However, there is not yet as much compatible music, film and series content as one might wish.
At the beginning, the whole thing only dominated the Apple TV app, recently also Apple Music. With iOS and iPadOS 15 Spatial Audio is also to be improved in such a way that other content can also be enjoyed automatically with 3D sound.
Netflix with Spatial Audio: Update is already being rolled out
The streaming provider has now confirmed that an update with support for Spatial Audio is already on the way. If this does not install automatically, it is advisable to try a manual installation of the update. Otherwise, patience is required, because the update will be rolled out quite slowly.
