A new font has been integrated into WhatsApp for a long time. It has now been activated by the developers for all users using Android or iOS. We'll show you how to use the new font.

The new font in WhatsApp is called "FixedSys" and has been integrated into WhatsApp for a long time. Because like the leakers from BetaInfo If you are now aware of this font on Twitter, it is now available. But you can't simply activate it yourself somewhere in the settings or in the chat and write to it directly, but the whole thing has to be made cumbersome with every message. We'll show you how to do it.

How to use the new font in WhatsApp

In order to use the new font, you have to act as if you wanted to write in bold, italic or strikethrough. The whole thing works like this: for bold text: *News*; for italic text: _News_; for strikethrough text: ~ Message ~. But that is actually even more convenient than using the new FixedSys font. This is how writing works with the new font: you type a grave three times before your message, then your message follows and at the end you have to type a grave three times again. That would look something like this in a message: "" Your message ""

If you should now write to a friend who does not have the current version of WhatsApp, you will receive a message where the three grave accents are visible. You'll notice that when you send the message, because the characters don't turn gray and the font in the chat bubble doesn't change. Otherwise, a friend with the most updated version of WhatsApp will get the message procan easily receive in the new font.

The monospace font is intended to emphasize cited text (e.g. to declare code as such). The syntax for this text formatting is based on Markdown and, by the way, is also supported by Threema.

Paulino, isn't a normal person or developer sending someone code on WhatsApp? This font is everywhere else anyway ...
