OnePlus 3: Update to Android 7.0 on the way

Like OnePlus now on Reddit confirmed, an update to Android Nougat for the OnePlus 3 is already in progress. Despite the small OnePlus development team, the update should be released this year.
A question thread was started on Reddit yesterday. Here users can ask questions to the OnePlus development team. Among other things, it was about an Android 7.0 update for the OnePlus 3. Under this question, OnePlus confirmed that an update was already in progress.
Android 7.0 Nougat for the OnePlus 3 later this year?
The OnePlus development team is currently very hard working when it comes to regular updates. Before the OnePlus 3 was released, there was a lot of criticism, as updates were very rarely released. Now the Chinese manufacturer seems to be making an extra effort. When a user on Reddit asks whether there will be an Android 7.0 update for the OnePlus 3, the answer was the following: "I can confirm that nougat is chewy," said Aaron, in the OnePlus ROM team. Translated it means something like “I can confirm that nougat is in the works” - good news.
OnePlus has not yet officially commented on a release date or further information. Also in the OnePlus forum there are so far no answers for a 7.0 update. Some users are hoping for a Christmas present in December in the form of a nougat update.

OnePlus does not want to neglect older models either and is releasing OxygenOS 3.1.2 for the OnePlus X. In addition to some improvements, the upgrade to Android 6.0 is one of the highlights. At the beginning of this year it was said that an update to Android M was not planned.
