The Chinese manufacturer could introduce the OnePlus 4, or OnePlus 5, later this year. So far there has been some speculation about the new flagship. We have collected all possible specs.

The manufacturer OnePlus is known for its very good price / performance ratio. The manufacturer would like to keep this motto and could introduce the OnePlus 5 with strong hardware for little money this year. Thus, OnePlus would skip the model number OnePlus 4. This is due to the number 4, which is considered the unlucky number in China. Some Chinese companies have already acted in a similar way and simply skipped this number.

OnePlus 5 with Snapdragon 835 and eight gigabytes of RAM

The OnePlus 3 and 3T are characterized by the fact that many apps can be kept open in the background. OnePlus would like to go one step further and increase the RAM from 6GB to 8GB. The system and the camera should each reserve 2GB of RAM. Thus, the user would have 4GB of RAM available solely for the apps and the user. In addition, the QualcommProzessor Snapdragon 835 not only ensure even faster performance, but also bring improved energy efficiency.

Large display with narrow bezels

The new OnePlus model should be based on the Galaxy S8 display. The OnePlus 5 should also have a large display with very narrow bezels. The 5,5 inch display is said to have an aspect ratio of 16: 9 and resolve in QHD.

The software buttons are also intended to replace the usual physical buttons. In this case, the fingerprint sensor could also move to the rear. There are also plans to change a lot with the camera. This should not only be equipped with 23 megapixels, but also have a dual camera on the back. The front camera should shoot selfies with up to 8 megapixels and offer auto focus.

The battery should have a capacity of 4000mAh and should be charged to 30 in 60 minutes using OnePlus' Dash Charge Procent charged. Thus, the battery would be a lot larger compared to current smartphones. As with its predecessors, OnePlus will use USB-C for the connection. When it comes to the software, OnePlus should rely on Android Nougat and the usual pure Android interface OxygenOS.

The OnePlus 5 should appear in the summer of 2017 at a price of at least 439 euros. As with all OnePlus smartphones before, you should get top hardware again at half the price. We are excited.

I can't wait for it to be featured. Apart from the fact that my 3 series has a cracked display, I've fallen in love with OP since the first version. Top hardware at a fair price. I doubt whether the debate about the 8 GB RAM is realistic. In addition, that the 6 GB RAM of the current version is hardly used. Here OP should rather install a QHD display and a more powerful battery - but above all: please, please install the back of the 2 series again. Because of the smooth aluminum frame, the 3 series slipped out of my hand ... after 1 month.

It's good that I'm not alone with this. I feel the same way - David - I also miss the body of the OP2 and the 3 series keeps flying out of my hands. With a case it works again to some extent.
Does your battery run out so quickly? Achieve less than 2-3 hours of screen time in everyday life. I'm actually quite disappointed: /
In addition, the firmware of the OnePlus is not fully developed, I think.

I've never had that with the battery Proproblem, I can get by for a good 1,5 days on one charge and the cell phone is constantly in operation with music streaming, navigation, etc. - The only thing I've had since the last update is the Bluetooth Proproblem that the connection is constantly being interrupted.

8GB RAM… madness where we have now reached the cell phone. If you think about the fact that today cell phones combine a service for which huge halls were necessary 20 years ago. And the whole thing is also available in the price / performance ratio for Lau.

WHEN should the device come out?

Oliver

I'm excited! As always, the part has really great hardware.
