It's that time again. Another update achieves that OPPO Find X3 Pro. In the following lines I will summarize for you what improvements and new functions there are this time.

The A.20 update has been distributed to users since July 31. Here's the one Changelog:

  • Apps
    • Browsing photos when there are more photos stored on the phone is smoother
    • Recently used apps in the smart sidebar are updated more quickly
    • Enlarges the button to switch between Chinese and English for easier control
  • System
    • Fixes a ProFixed an issue where the app icons on the home screen were of different sizes in certain scenarios
  • Communication
    • Improves telephony and network compatibility and performance
    • Adds 5G network support for Indonesia
  • Safety
    • July 2021 Android security patch has been added to improve system security

That's all the Changelog from the A.20 update. Typically for OPPO, the update is distributed via OTA and in waves.

Screenshot tool gets a new design

However, I noticed another change after the update. The built-in screenshot tool in ColorOS 11 no longer offers "swiping gestures", but has two buttons for direct sharing in different apps and one for scrollable screenshots. This has been changed (at least I suspect it) to further improve one-handed operation.

Camera app gets new watermark

Also not mentioned in the changelog, a new watermark was added to the camera app. It is now designed a little nicer. I personally like it.

Unfortunately, very few have received the A20 update so far. There is also no information about whether it was stopped or anything else .. I expect more when Oppo calls premium prices!

I wrote to support yesterday and got an answer today. 4 to 6 weeks? really great!

"Dear Customer,
Dear Customer

I understand that you would like to know why the updates were only delivered on individual devices. I would be happy to explain how this delay came about.

Basically, updates are usually delivered in waves. This means that a randomized number of active devices will be offered to install an update. As soon as this group has installed the update and no errors have occurred during this time, another wave is triggered, which in turn provides further randomly selected devices with an update offer. This whole Prozess can take 4 to 6 weeks to complete depending on the model.

I wish you still a pleasant day.

With kind regards,
