OPPO is known for unusual special editions of the smartphones, as this year too, because they showed a Mars edition of the in China Find X3 Pro. The manufacturer also provided a UWB cover for the X3 Pro before. What the two new Proproducts, you will find out in the following lines.

First, let's start with the Mars edition of the Find X3 Pro on. This is very likely only offered in China. The lettering "Mars 2021 Utopia Planitia" is emblazoned on the back and the special edition has also been given a new special matt gray colour. According to OPPO, the back is fogged AG glass with a metal look to capture the texture of space. Incidentally, the word "Utopia Planitia" refers to the landing site of the Tianwan-1 on the Mars.

In terms of technical data, there is only a small difference to the normal X3 Pro and this one affects memory. Here, customers are offered a whopping 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 flash memory.

We suspect that OPPO is bringing this version as a gift for China as they landed their first rocket on the red planet. Unfortunately, we therefore assume that this will not be sold outside of China.

UWB one-touch case

OPPO now also offers UWB (Ultrawide Band), which the Find X3 Pro is missing, which is why it now comes in a shell. The ones already leaked OPPO Smart Tags finally come onto the market with this case. The SmartTags are magnetic and should have three control modes (switch, control card and start-up).

Users should simply point the device at the desired device (with attached SmartTag) and be able to perform such actions with a double tap on the back. With their SmartTags, OPPO approaches a completely different application policy than Samsung or Apple. OPPO could probably give the SmartTags a search function via update in the future. The Chinese manufacturer specifies a range of 15 meters, which corresponds to the UWB standard. We suspect that the case gets the power via Reverse QI or NFC.
