Players all over the world are currently in Pokémon GO fever. Everyone is on the hunt for Pokémon and looking for Pokéstops. An update for the AR game from Niantic, which has been downloaded millions of times, should be available in the next few days. What is planned for the future?

Swap Pokémon with friends directly in Pokémon GO

You know a friend who has a cool Pokémon and wants to trade it for one of yours? This is possible in all Pokémon games, but not yet in Pokémon GO. However, an update of this core feature should be submitted soon, such as Business Insider officially found out in an interview with developer boss John Hanke.

Even more augmented reality in Pokémon GO

Niantic wants to bring even more augmented reality into play. In the future, you should not only be able to see where the next monster is with your smartphone on a map, but also be able to see the Pokémon directly in front of you with a Hololens or a Google Glass, as a picture from The Pokémon Company shows. The picture also shows that you should see direction arrows on a wall with AR glasses so that you can see directly where the next Pokémon is. Exciting.

Sponsorship of Pokéstops and arenas in Pokémon GO

Nintendo and Niantic also want to earn money in addition to the virtual currency in the game. In order to implement this, companies and advertising partners should be given the opportunity over time to buy arenas and Pokéstops at certain places, e.g. in front of a shop, in order to get more customers. With the next update, you may even have to go into shops to exploit a Pokéstop or fight other Pokémon in an arena. so clues have surfaced, which should confirm a cooperation with McDonalds and Niantic. Definitely an interesting advertising concept.

Fight other Pokémon GO players in arenas

In Pokémon you can already fight against enemy Pokémon in arenas, but not yet against other players. This feature is also an integral part of the previous Pokémon games and will be added with an update in the near future. There is no exact date yet.

See other Pokémon GO players on the map and chat with them

A certainly interesting feature would be chatting and seeing other players in the map, where the Pokéstops also appear. Messenger for Pokémon GO is already available, but they are not official and often do not work as expected. Interested parties can already download the apps here:

Worldwide leaderboard and a leaderboard for arenas

A leaderboard is also planned for one of the upcoming updates. On the one hand, there should be a leaderboard at the individual arenas, since almost all fights take place there, and on the other hand, a global leaderboard is planned for all users. However, it is not known when this feature will move into Pokémon GO.

Better quality in Pokémon GO

Another one Proproblem in Pokémon GO is currently the quality of the AR overlays in the app. These currently appear very pixelated and warped. A subsequent update should improve the whole thing, according to the developer.

This article will be continuously supplemented and updated if a feature has been integrated into Pokémon GO. If this article is updated, we will inform you via Facebook and Twitter.
