In the future, drivers of electric vehicles in Austria should benefit from a financial support called ePremia procan fit. The ePremium, also known as the greenhouse gas premium (GHG premium), will be introduced from 2024 and aims to promote the use of electric and hybrid vehicles and the expansion of charging infrastructure. Each year a hefty financial reward awaits.

In a nutshell: Although only a few Austrians know about this measure so far, it is said to have a reward of up to 900 euros pro Enable calendar year for e-drivers. However, it is not worth waiting another six months to claim this bonus. Anyone who owns an electric vehicle or operates a charging infrastructure can benefit from the ePremium profit. The requestprocessing with a quota trader like WirkaufendeineTHG is simple and straightforward.

  • E-mobility is promoted and oil companies have to pay for their greenhouse gas emissions.
  • EV owners receive financial rewards through GHG quota traders.
  • Austria is planning a similar regulation to Germany, with higher premiums and simple processing via quota dealers.

E-mobility is being promoted – and oil companies are being asked to pay

The ePremium is a consequence of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, which aims to make oil companies, as importers of fossil fuels, pay more for their greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, e-mobility is to be promoted. A similar quota has been in force in Germany since January 1, 2022. Owners of electric vehicles, e-motorcycles and e-scooters can have their saved CO₂ greenhouse gas emissions certified by the Federal Environment Agency and receive a financial payment from GHG quota traders as a bonus. Austria is planning a similar scheme to Germany, but with some key differences.

Owners of hybrid vehicles, e-scooters and charging stations are also eligible for eQuote

In both Germany and Austria, mineral oil companies are obliged to offset an increasing proportion of the greenhouse gases they emit. This means that these companies pay money to drivers of electric vehicles that do not emit greenhouse gases. Every owner of an electric or hybrid vehicle, an e-pedelec, a road-legal e-scooter or an operator of publicly accessible charging stations is entitled to this quota and thus to financial support. Companies that operate an electric vehicle fleet or provide their employees with a charging station are also eligible.

In Austria there are particularly high premiums

Compared to Germany, the ePremium in Austria is likely to be significantly more attractive. While in Germany currently around 250 euros pro Electric vehicle are paid, theoretically up to 900 euros can be received in Austria. The GHG certificates, which are valuable documents for calculating the premium, are also issued in Austria by the Federal Environment Agency. However, the issue in Austria will only take place from a certain amount of saved CO2 in order to keep the administrative burden low. An individual owner of an electric vehicle can therefore not contact the Federal Environment Agency directly. In addition, tricks such as the daily registration of electric vehicles in order to collect the premium for a full calendar year should be avoided in Austria.

Simple processing via odds dealers

In order to receive the ePremium in Austria, it is recommended to use a quota dealer, as the Federal Environment Agency does not want to be flooded with thousands of individual applications. A single end customer cannot do much with the GHG certificate, but would have to sell it to a mineral oil company to get his money. Luckily, odds traders like WebuyyourTHG.de in Germany or here in Austria has already developed a simple application software that makes it possible to generate the application for the e-premium based on a photo of the vehicle registration document. These dealers take over the entire Proprocess from the application to the sale of the rewards, so customers don’t have to worry about a thing.

Against hidden self-promotion

Sorry, but what your guest author fabricates here counts as hidden advertising. The name wirkaufendeinethg literally penetrates my eye, be it in the text or under almost EVERY photo...
The editors should urgently think about who is allowed to publish a guest article and with what intention the author writes the article.
Just bold.
