Somewhat apart from that CES 2019 in Las Vegas. The first smartwatches with Wear OS are now getting the update to Android Pie (version H). All information.

According to the 9to5Google Buyers of a fourth-generation Fossil smartwatch now get the Android Pie update with the version designation H. This group of smartwatches includes the Fossil Q Explorist and the Skagen Falster 2. However, the update should not appear immediately. 9to5Google thinks that it is necessary to manually press the "System updates" button several times.

These are the innovations in version H

The strange thing is that it's still pretty new Fossil Sport didn't get the update yet. It is not yet known when this watch and others will receive the update. In particular, Google focused this update on improving battery life purely with software. When the watch is not being worn, a deep sleep mode is activated, which disables almost all of the smartwatch's functions. There is also a new energy saving mode. If activated, only the time and date is displayed. Almost nothing has changed in terms of design and construction. Just the font Product sans is now available in a few places and the settings have been slightly redesigned.
