Samsung Galaxy A12 & A02s: Two new budget smartphones presented
A few days ago, Samsung officially presented two new A-series smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy A12 and the A02s. These are inexpensive entry-level devices.
Unfortunately, there is currently no official information from Samsung about the prices. The Verge reported, however, that the new smartphones will hit the European market at the beginning of next year for less than 200 euros. The A02s should therefore cost 150 euros and the slightly better A12 should be available for 180 euros.
Samsung Galaxy A12
With the Galaxy A12 you get a 6,5 inch TFT display with HD + resolution, which has a small recess in which the front camera is located. On the side is the fingerprint sensor, with which the device can be unlocked quickly and safely. The back is made of plastic and is available in a total of four different colors: the buyer can choose between blue, black, white and red.
An unspecified octa-core processor works under the hoodProprocessor with two cores clocked at up to 2,3 GHz and two other cores at up to 1,8 GHz. There is a choice of 3, 4 or 6 GB RAM with 32, 64 or 128 GB flash memory. This can be expanded by up to 1 TB with a micro SD card. With a capacity of 5.000 mAh, the battery is larger than average and can be charged with up to 15 watts.
Finally, let's take a closer look at the cameras. Samsung installed a quad camera, consisting of a 48 megapixel main camera, 5 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and two sensors with 2 megapixels each, which are responsible for macro shots and depth effects. The already mentioned front camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels.
Samsung Galaxy A02s
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A02s is a little less well equipped, which is particularly evident when it comes to the cameras. Unfortunately, there is no ultra wide-angle camera here and the smaller main sensor only has a resolution of 13 megapixels. Of course, megapixels aren't everything, but the A12 should still deliver significantly better results here. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 is supposed to be inside, so it's a bit older Proprocessor, which is supported by 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of flash memory. The internal memory can be expanded by up to 1 TB via a micro SD card. Otherwise there are no differences in the display, the battery and the fingerprint sensor. It will be available from February in black and white.
