According to current information, Samsung's A series for 2021 will soon be supplemented with the A52 and A72. While for the smaller A52 almost all of them technical data and Pictures have been leaked, a new leak provides all details and pictures of the Samsung Galaxy A72.

The following information was obtained from Roland Quandt on WinFuture disclosed. It is important to mention that there will probably only be a 4G variant of the A72. Unfortunately, it is still unclear at this point in time whether a variant with 5G will appear in the course of the year.

Samsung Galaxy A72 technical specifications

Similar to last year's predecessor, the display of the A72 takes up a large part of the front and is only interrupted by a small punch hole in which the front camera is located. The OLED display in the elongated 20: 9 format measures 6,7 inches and should have a pleasantly sharp resolution of 2.400 x 1.080 pixels. The specialty, however, is the smooth refresh rate of up to 90 Hertz.

Under the hood, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G should work, which should be supported by either 6 or 8 GB of RAM. There is also 128 or 256 GB of internal memory that can be expanded via a micro SD card. Samsung is to bring the A72 with its in-house user interface, based on Android 11, onto the market. The battery is said to have a proud capacity of 5.000 mAh. It is currently unclear whether a power supply unit should be included. Furthermore, a 3,5 mm jack connection should be on board, the device should be protected against the ingress of water and dust according to IP-67 and the fingerprint sensor should have been integrated into the display, as with the predecessor.

If you look at the back of the Galaxy A72, the built-in quad camera immediately catches your eye. The main sensor should have a resolution of 64 megapixels and, thanks to pixel binning, provide even better results. In addition, an improved ultra-wide-angle camera with a resolution of 12 megapixels will be added. Furthermore, after what feels like an eternity, Samsung should finally install a telelens in a Galaxy A smartphone again. This should resolve with 8 megapixels and enable a 2x optical zoom. This setup should still be supported by a 2 megapixel macro camera. The front camera on the front should resolve with 32 megapixels.

Samsung Galaxy A72: Price, Colors & Availability

As we reported a few days ago, the A72 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage will cost 449 euros. For 8 GB of RAM and double storage, the buyer should probably have to pay 60 euros more. When it comes to colors, you can choose between black, white, blue and purple. Unfortunately, at this point in time there is no concrete information about the official market launch, but according to current rumors this could take place in February or March.
