As the new flagship Samsung Galaxy S6 many outdoor fans were disappointed. That's why Samsung is now also offering an outdoor version of the new successor. It's not official yet, but it's considered safe. Now the first pictures of the model have appeared.

Since the S6 and S6 Edge have a glass surface, it is very fragile and is therefore not suitable for outdoor fans. The new S6 Active is supposed to be a smartphone especially for outdoor fans. This means that the back should be more robust, the battery should run longer, and it is waterproof.

The new smartphone is said to boast 2550 mAh instead of 6 mAh for the S3500. In addition, it should be dust and waterproof, as well as protect against falling.

Technical data

Even if we don't know anything about the price and availability of the Galaxy S6 Active, the first details about the technical data of the S6 Active are already coming to light. At 5,5 inches, the screen is said to be much larger than the Galaxy S6 (5,1 inches). The dimensions of the S6 Active should be significantly larger than the Galaxy S6: 146,9 x 73,6 x 8,8 millimeters for the S6 Active, the S6 has 143,4 x 70,5 x 6,8 millimeters. Otherwise, the outdoor model should offer almost all functions that the normal Samsung Galaxy S6 can.
