Sony introduces the Xperia XZ Premium with a 4K display at the MWC

After the big manufacturers at MWC 2017 in Barcelona, ​​now it's Sony’s turn. Of course, Sony also has something in its luggage: three smartphones were presented at the same time. The new 4K flagship is the Xperia XZ Premium.

After the first big day at the Mobile World Congress, Sony is also presenting three new smartphones. What stands out: the Xpera XZ Premium comes with a 5,5-inch 4K display. In addition, the flagship is equipped with a current SnapdragonProprocessor equipped. The other two smartphones, the XA1 and XA1 Ultra, have a slightly slimmer configuration, but are also cheaper.

Technical details of the Xperia XZ Premium

The highlight of the Xperia XZ Premium is the 5,5-inch display, which has a resolution of 4K and is HDR-capable. Inside is the Snapdragon 835 with 4GB of RAM. The internal memory offers space for content up to 64 gigabytes. If that's not enough for you, you can expand it with a microSD card up to 256GB. The main camera shoots subjects with 19 megapixels. It also supports Sony's proprietary Motion Eye technology. This technology allows slow-motion videos with up to 960 frames pro Record second - amazing. The front camera for selfies has a maximum resolution of 15 megapixels.

The battery has a capacity of 3230mAh and can be quickly recharged using Quick Charge 3.0. When it comes to software, Sony relies on the newest of the newest with the Xperia XZ Premium: Android 7.0 Nougat. The flagship will be available from June at a price of 749 euros in chrome and black.

The cheapest in the group: the Xperia XA1

In addition to the Xperia XZ Premium, there are two other smartphones that were presented to us today in Barcelona. The Xperia XA1 comes with a 5-inch display - with one difference to the top model: it does not support playback of content in 4K. This only has a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Under the hood, Sony relies on a MediaTek Helio P20 octa-coreProprocessor. There is also 3GB of RAM and up to 32GB of internal storage. This can be expanded with a microSD card – up to a maximum of 256 gigabytes. The main camera takes pictures with a resolution of 23 megapixels, the front camera up to 8 MP.

The battery is pretty tight with 2300mAh, but supports a special fast charging technology. This smartphone also uses the Android Nougat 7.0 operating system from Google. The Sony Xperia XA1 will be available in mid-April for a price of 279. The buyer can choose from the colors white, black, pink and gold.

Something more: the Xperia XA1 Ultra

The larger XA1 Ultra comes with a 6-inch display and a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. With the exception of 4GB of RAM, a front camera of 16 megapixels and a battery of 2700mAh, the Xperia XA1 Ultra offers the same features as the cheaper model. The Xperia XA1 Ultra should be available from us in the colors black, white, gold and rose gold from mid-May and should cost 399 euros.
