Honor 10 presented: the Huawei P20 alternative is here

On Tuesday, Honor officially presented the Honor 10 at an event in Paris. This is supposed to be a smaller offshoot of the Honor View 10 - with a better camera and notch. Specifically, it is pretty similar to the one that appeared last Huawei P20. The Honor 10 has a 5,8-inch display in 19: 9 format and a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. On the front you can also find a recess, the so-called "notch", where the 24MP front camera sits together with the loudspeaker. The fingerprint sensor can be found under the display again this year.

On the back there is also a dual camera with a resolution of 12 and 24 megapixels. The 8-core CPU Huawei Kirin 970 is still working under the hood, with an AI chip, as can be found in the P20 series and in the predecessor, the Honor View 10. There are also 4 or 6GB of RAM and 64 or 128GB of internal memory to the side. The battery is on par with the P3400 with its 20mAh. In contrast to the P20 series, however, a jack connection is on board. The software is based on EMUI 8.1 with Android 8.1.

Finally, about the prices: The version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage costs 400 euros, the version with 128 GB of storage costs 450 euros. The model presented in China with 6 GB of RAM will probably not be sold in Germany. Pre-orders are now available in Honor shop possible - delivery will start on May 24th. Black, gray, blue and green are available as color variants.

Google One: Cloud service with new storage plans

On Tuesday, Google rebranded its plans for Google Drive to Google One. In addition, the storage plans are being revised. In the future, 100GB will be $1,99/month, 200GB will be $2,99/month and 2TB will be $9,99 pro month to be available. The selection for 1TB has thus disappeared and has been replaced with 2TB. All existing 1TB Google Drive plans will be upgraded to 2TB at no additional cost. However, the 15GB Drive storage space remains free. With Google One, however, chat support is now being used for the first time: There should be support for all plans, which at Prostands to one side. There are also concrete plans for families: in the future, each user should be able to add up to 5 members to their account and thus share their storage space with others. Here you can see the changes in detail.

OnePlus presents new flagship killer: The OnePlus 6

On May 16, OnePlus presented a new smartphone in addition to Honor at its own event, also in Paris. Compared to the predecessor, the price is increased again, although not much has changed in the hardware. Except for the better camera and a notch, the OnePlus 6 looks like the predecessor OnePlus 5T confusingly similar. But let's briefly summarize:

The OnePlus 6 comes with a 6,28-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 (Full-HD +), the aspect ratio is 19: 9. Here, too, there is a notch on the top. With the OnePlus 6 there is also a glass back for the first time and a well-known position of the camera like in older OnePlus devices. This is said to have been improved a lot with the OnePlus 6 thanks to the larger image sensor. However, nothing was done about the “internal” equipment on the device itself. For the cheapest model with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, prices start at 519 euros - with the reflective glass back in black. Sales will start on May 22nd OnePlus online shop and at Amazon. More details can be found in our article:
