August just started feeling like the second week of the month is over. That means it's time for the current one again TechnikNews Weekly is.

TuneIn failure

TuneIn is a popular online radio service that was down for a short time this week. Not only did the apps for the individual platforms no longer work as usual, but also Internet radios that access the service only reported that an error had occurred. After just under an hour, all channels were back to normal.

Magenta with glitches

Not only TuneIn had to deal with disruptions, Magenta (Telekom) was also affected. There have been a number of times in the past few weeks Proproblems that the mobile operator reported as resolved for the time being. Now there are outages again this week, so surfing the internet and making phone calls is not possible. We are still struggling with the consequences of the disruption.

Spotify bans the Android widget

Almost no user of the Spotify Android app liked this news. The streaming provider removed the long-standing widget for the home screen this week. This means that it can no longer be placed from now on. If it is already on the start screen, it will no longer work. Spotify has already commented on this step and said that the widget was unnecessary because there are playback controls for Android in the notification center.

Contact lens with zoom function

Our new editor Andi discovered a pretty exciting gadget on the Internet that could come from films like "Back to the Future": a contact lens with a zoom function. The University of California San Diego worked on this. Double blinking triggers a mechanism that triggers the zoom effect. You can read exactly how this works in the article.

OnePlus 7 Pro Review and OnePlus 7T

At the beginning of the week, two OnePlus articles appeared here. The first is the review of the OnePlus 7 Pro. With the 7th Pro the manufacturer brought out a premium smartphone at a comparatively low price. You can read what I think of it in the report.

Then there is news about the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro. According to a leak on Twitter, these will be presented on October 15th. In the past few years, the T-model was presented in autumn, so it is quite conceivable that this will also be the case this year.
