Microsoft Teams down: Home office paralyzes servers
At the start of the first home office week, the servers of Microsoft's "Teams" service went down. Microsoft had apparently not expected that so many companies and schools would want to use their service. Almost all functions of the service were therefore not available.
The Microsoft service has been running again for a few days proproblem-free after the disruptions had been rectified and the server capacities were also expanded.
Discord downtime: Chat platform down
After the team platform Microsoft Teams completely failed, Discord also failed on Monday evening. Logging in, reaching and sending messages had not been possible.
The entire world was affected by the large-scale disruption and insisted on all PC and smartphone operating systems. Later in the evening, the Discord team of technicians fixed the problem and the platform has been running smoothly ever since.
Netflix throttling: US company is throttling immediately
Due to the current corona pandemic, the US company is throttling Netflix after the EU Commission issued a recommendation for throttlingprochen had their streaming offer in Europe with immediate effect. After more and more people stayed at home, the data consumption of the networks increased noticeably. Networks also collapsed at times.
In Switzerland, the Swisscom network was repeatedly overloaded. In Germany, data traffic is at the hub DE-CIX increased by more than 10%.
Apple's new Proucts: New iPad and Macbook presented
Last week the smartphone giant Apple presented its new iPad Pro 2020 and MacBook Air 2020 introduced. However, the innovations are not completely new Proproducts, but rather about adjustments compared to the last one Product series.

In view of the current corona pandemic, we are including an article outside of the top 4 articles from last week in the summary.
Our editor David Haydl has published a short introduction to the browser add-on “Netflix Party” on our blog. Due to the current situation, in some areas of Europe it is advised or even forbidden to meet with friends or acquaintances. Together with this browser add-on, it is still possible to host the film evenings virtually with your loved ones.
Only the organizer needs to have the browser add-on installed, the guests do not necessarily have to do this. It is important to mention, however, that this add-on is only available for the Google Chrome browser. Users of other browsers must therefore install an additional browser.
