Vivo is currently only known to very few here in Europe. In the Asian market, on the other hand, they have been established for a long time and now they are finally officially taking off here with us.

The Chinese manufacturer presented four smartphones for Europe on Wednesday. We want to take a closer look at these in the following lines.

Vivo Y series

Starting with the cheap Y smartphones. These are entry-level and mid-range devices that should convince with their beautiful design, camera and great battery life. Let's start with the cheapest smartphone in the range, the Vivo Y11s.

Live Y11s

When you first look at the data sheet, it is immediately clear that this is an affordable entry-level smartphone. The 6,51 inch LC display has a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and does not support a refresh rate of 90 Hertz or even 120 Hertz. Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460, which is manufactured using the 11 nanometer process. There is also 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of flash memory. The highlight of the cheap smartphone is clearly the huge 5.000 mAh battery. Finally, let's talk briefly about the cameras. Unlike most of its competitors in this price range, Vivo only uses two cameras. The main camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels (f / 2.2) and the bokeh camera with 2 megapixels.

Unfortunately, the Vivo Y11s is not currently available from us in Germany.

Live Y20s

The Vivo Y20s is a bit better equipped. It comes with a 6,51 inch LC display, which also has a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. Here, too, the refresh rate is only 60 Hertz. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 460, paired with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB flash memory, ensures sufficient power. There are also no differences to the cheaper brother in terms of battery capacity. Here the huge 5.000 battery can be charged with up to 18 watts. That's very strong for the price (more in a bit). For comparison, the much more expensive one iPhone 11 Pro Max only comes with an 18 watt power supply. There are slight differences between the cameras. Vivo uses 3 sensors, consisting of a 13 megapixel (f / 2.2) main camera and two sensors with 2 megapixels each for macro shots and bake effects.

The version with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB flash memory costs 193,48 euros and is available from MediaMarkt and Saturn in blue and black.

Live Y70

The Vivo Y70 is the flagship of the new Y series. The 6,44-inch AMOLED display has a much sharper resolution of 2.400 x 1.080 pixels. As with the other devices, a smooth refresh rate is not supported here either. Of the ProThe processor is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665, along with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory. Unfortunately, the 4.100 mAh battery is significantly smaller than that of its cheaper brothers, but it can be charged very quickly with up to 33 watts. There are big differences in the camera. The Y70 has a much larger 48 megapixel main sensor, which can also be used to record videos in 4K with up to 30 FPS. The whole thing is rounded off by two sensors, each with 2 megapixels for macro shots and bokeh shots.

The Vivo Y70 is also available from MediaMarkt and Saturn. The version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB flash memory is available in black and blue for 290,99 euros.

I live X51 5G

As the saying goes? The best comes for last and that applies here to the Vivo X51 5G. This is the most expensive and best Vivo smartphone for Europe. Then let's see what it has to offer.

The 6,56-inch AMOLED display has a resolution of 2.376 x 1080 pixels and is slightly curved on the sides. The display of the X51 5G is the only one of the four new models to have a refresh rate of 90 Hertz. Inside is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, which also enables 5G. There is also 8 GB of RAM and an impressive 256 GB of flash memory that cannot be expanded. The built-in battery has a capacity of 4.315 mAh and can be quickly charged with up to 33 watts.

In terms of cameras, the Vivo X51 5G differs greatly from the cheaper Y series. The Chinese manufacturer has installed four cameras, consisting of a 48 megapixel (f / 1.6) main camera, an 8 megapixel (f / 2.2) ultra wide-angle camera, a 13 megapixel (f / 2.46) telecamera with 2x optical zoom and one 8 megapixel (f / 3.4) telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. The front camera has a resolution of 32 megapixels (f / 2.45) and sits in a small punch hole in the display.

The Vivo X51 5G with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB flash memory costs 799 euros and is available from various retailers such as MediaMarkt and Sparhandy. The device is only available in gray.
