There are rumors that Google is using the Pixel 3 (xl) will introduce a Pixel Smartwatch. The new guidelines for the quality of Wear OS apps could have been introduced for this watch. All information.

Improving the quality of Wear OS apps

Google continued on this week Android developer blog an entry in which new and future mandatory guidelines for Wear OS apps are listed. The aim is to achieve a higher quality of the apps in the Play Store. These basic criteria will apply to new apps from October 1 of this year. For existing apps, these guidelines will come into force on March 4, 2019.

Adhering to the guidelines for developers is optional up to now

Such quality guidelines have existed since Wear OS 2.0. However, developers have so far been free to develop the app taking these provisions into account. So the app could still be published. I shouldn't be like that in the future. The Verge assumes that the effort will be made because of a possible Pixel Smartwatch, which, according to rumors, will be presented to Google with the Pixel 3 (XL).

Another piece of evidence suggesting a Pixel Watch is Google Coach. This is supposed to be a new virtual fitness coach from Google who creates its own training plan, records training milestones and suggests an alternative date if a workout has been missed. It remains to be seen whether Google will ultimately introduce a Pixel Watch.
