Whatsapp now also brings the calls feature to iOS
The function was only released publicly in the Play Store for Android users on March 31 - now it's time for iOS users too.
About a month ago you could Activate the function for Android via invitation. A few weeks later the version was officially released. Only iOS users have had nothing of it so far, except for a phone signal at the top of a chat.
Now the feature was officially put in the App Store yesterday evening. To call someone you have to go into a chat and then click on the phone icon. Now the call should go directly through the WhatsApp server. If this is not the case, simply reinstall your WhatsApp.
In addition, a new data protection option for switching off read receipts has appeared in the update.
Web WhatsApp, which was also released for Android two months ago, is not yet possible for iOS users either. However, it is unclear when WhatsApp Web will move into the App Store.
