Windows 10: Active on over 400 million devices
Microsoft announced yesterday at the Ignite conference that the Windows 10 operating system is actively used on over 400 million devices.
Microsoft has set a goal of one billion for all Windows 10 devices. However, this should not be achieved until 2018. Windows 2015 was launched in July 10 after numerous preview and developer versions. For comparison: at the beginning of May 2016 there were still 300 million active installations.
The numbers are increasing every month
Since there is now a new number, there must also be older numbers. Microsoft had stated that Windows 10 was on 207 million devices in March, over 300 million in May and then 350 million devices were equipped with Windows 10 in June. Microsoft is very slow on its way to its goal as only 50 million more devices have been active since the end of the free upgrade.
Windows 10's goal is set on a high number
Microsoft still believes that the goal of one billion devices can be cracked. This would give Windows 10 a higher market share than Windows 7. Windows 10 Mobile can't help either, even if Microsoft continues to develop. The company has a long way to go, even if Microsoft has planned many updates.
